Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Customer Services department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written
  • Experience in problem solving and analysis with the ability to handle complaints and misunderstandings
  • Knowledge of life insurance concepts, as well as policy provisions and their interpretations
  • Tact, effective decision making, and independent action required
  • Knowledge of administrative information systems
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in customer service work preferred
  • General knowledge of Personal Computers preferred
  • Basic understanding of underwriting requirements preferred
  • Understanding of information sources and policy accounting systems
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research, analyze and respond to all service inquiries. Answer questions for all products. Provides service to Walk-In customers
  • Accountable for accurate payment of policyowner benefits such as policy loans, surrenders, partial surrenders, etc.
  • Provide administrative maintenance of policy files and computer records; Authorize and change policy records such as change of beneficiary, ownership, name, address, assignments, billing changes, etc.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency and quality of the department by participating in various department/corporate projects. Assist with review of procedures
  • Accountable for conservation of policies and provides alternative policy options for conservation
  • Supports the Marketing sales effort by generation of lead referrals for Agencies
  • Observe State Compliance Regulations and report inappropriate action or trends in activity to management
  • Handles responses to sensitive complaints, complex questions and transactions. Performs various duties as assigned by management.
