Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our IT department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess college degree or equivalent technical training
  • Five or more years of programming experience
  • Possess a proficient knowledge of required application programming languages and tools appropriate to assigned platform(s)
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of specific application architecture, standards and procedures
  • Possess a general knowledge of all insurance terms and concepts as well as a detail knowledge of specific business functions
  • Possess proficient communication skills
  • Possess extensive design capabilities and understanding of operation hardware and software.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate and educate user departments by writing and maintaining programs and providing consultation as needed on new software installed or modifications to existing programs.
  • Provide departmental and corporate technical assistance and problem resolution by being on-call when system level problems arise.
  • When needed, provide project leadership by planning, allocating, motivating and controlling project work and IT staff and other resources on projects with a limited scope.
  • Contribute to the improvement in departmental and operating efficiencies by following departmental standards and procedures and by initiating and promoting new concepts and ideas.
  • Contribute to success of overall IT and company goals and objectives by continuously improving self and following company and IT administrative steps and procedures.
