Platform Engineer II
Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our IT department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • 2 or more years of experience with software development using JavaScript or similar language is preferred
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex infrastructure solutions in a cloud-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including continuous delivery and deployment.
  • Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the platform's infrastructure and applications.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and protocols, including SSL, OAuth, and SSO.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and maintain the platform's infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement and manage a continuous delivery model for the platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify platform requirements and implement new features and services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the platform's infrastructure and applications
  • Ensure platform compliance with all relevant standards and regulations
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve the platform's efficiency
  • Participate in on-call rotation to address any platform issues or outages
