Business Architect & Project Manager
Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Business Architecture & Project Management department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting or related business degree. Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • Extensive verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of technology
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and financial analysis skills and familiarity with financial modeling and ROI calculations and methodologies
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and experience with defined project management approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT trends, methods and applications in order to support business process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver against financial and resource constraints
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform balanced insurance accounting operational entries
  • Responsible for reviewing, completing and assisting with account reconciliations for insurance operations and associated journal entries.
  • Responsible for understanding the operations portions of insurance including applications, claims and associated accounting.
  • Implement project standards related to requirements documents, status reporting, project plan development and resource planning.
  • Manage multiple projects.
  • Advocate for business improvement by leveraging technology and improving the KCL architecture.
  • Work with users and IT associates to identify key project goals and requirements.
  • Direct and Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate and translate required business process capabilities and outcomes effectively between business process areas and IT.
