Group Contract Specialist
Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Group department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 3 years of Group ancillary insurance experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Well organized individual, capable of prioritizing multiple deadlines and managing their own workload.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least 12 months of policy issue/insurance contract experience preferred.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Tailor policies and certificates according to each policyholder’s plan design for all KCL Group Benefits products including Dental, Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Vision, and Voluntary products while adhering to state insurance department rules.
  • Build each new policyholder’s plan design, policy provisions, enrollment, and agent commission information on the LINK administrative billing system to generate the initial billing statements.
  • Prepare policy amendments and make subsequent changes to employee policy certificates for existing policyholders while complying with current state insurance department regulations.
  • Respond to Group broker inquiries related to commissions, resolve broker problems, and process broker of record changes.
  • Coordinate Group broker contracting with Agency Administration; analyze contracting applications for completeness; maintain and update Group agent and agency records to ensure Group systems match Agency Administration online databases.
  • Review and approve new sold business for True Group Dental and all small group Go2 products by following established underwriting guidelines.
  • Assume special projects including preparing and maintaining Contract Issue guidelines and department training manuals.
